WHAT'S IN THE ARCHIVE

We had access to Fred Hunter's archive and were offered to curate an exhibition relating to it. While we skimmed through endless research paper stacks, cassettes, audio recordings, personal correspondences and magazines his passion for broadcasting, and the cultural, political and social changes of his time shone through every bit of information. Hunter was interested in community building, the importance of radio in people’s lives. He wanted radio to offer as much diversity as possible while remaining a professional craft. To him, journalism demanded creativity, critical thinking and resembled poetry in some aspects. His perception resonated with us, and as to continue his work we decided to create an exhibition that would discuss the place of radio today and its importance for the future.
